4th General Public/ Science & Technology Competition (GP/STC)
Directorate of Science and Technology (DoST), NWFP is making concerted efforts to promote Science and Technology in NWFP. The objective can be achieved by celebrating & promoting Science and Technology at all l evels.
The best way to popularize and promote Science & Technology (S&T) is to target and sensitize the fertile brains. Organizing Science & Technology Competitions provides opportunities to the general public to test their creativity, knowledge and scientific genius and benefit the society at large.
In a quest to identify and promote people with extraordinary talent, the DoST has initiated the idea of holding General Public Science & Technology Competitions (GPSTC) throughout the province.
n this regard DoST has organized 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd GPSTCs for Peshawar , Hazara and Southern Region respectively. People from all walks of life participated in the competition with enthusiasm and the winners were awarded with cash prizes, Trophies and certificates .
In the next phase, the 4 th GPSTC is being organized for Malakand region (including Chitral, Buner, Shangla, Lower & Upper Dir, Malakand and Swat) districts as per following program. People from every walk of life will be invited to register their ideas/ innovations/ projects/models for participation in the event.

In order to make the event successful and ensure effective dissemination, some brochures / Booklet on 4 th GPSTC are enclosed for display/circulation in your institutes/Organizations. Extra Copies of the Brochure will be supplied on demand or can be downloaded from website ( www.dost-nwfp.gov.pk ).
It is important to mention here that people belonging to above mentioned districts living any where can participate in the event .
