4 th Regional Science & Technology Competition (STC) for Southern Region

Directorate of Science and Technology (DoST), NWFP is making concerted efforts to promote Science and Technology in NWFP. The objective is to celebrate & promote success in teaching and learning to increase interest in Science & Technology in masses and promote project based learning and research.

In a quest to identify and promote students with extraordinary talent, DoST has initiated the idea of holding Science & Technology Competitions (STC) throughout the province in collaboration with Education Department NWFP.

Students from class 9 th to 12 th and equivalent classes can participate in the event along with their ideas/ innovations/ projects/models in the five subject categories i.e. Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Biology and Chemistry.

Winners of the regional competitions will be awarded cash prizes, certificates and trophies, and will participate in the final provincial competitions.

Now the 4 th regional Science & Technology Competition for Southern region (i.e. Hangu, Koaht, Karak, Lakki, Tank and D.I. Khan Districts) is being organized at Government Post graduate College, Bannu as per the following schedule.

Judgment of Projects -do- 11:00 am

Lunch break -do- 02:00 pm

Visitors' day 13 th May, 2009 08:00 am

Closing ceremony -do- 01:00 pm

Lunch break -do- 02:00 pm

  It is therefore requested to ensure participation of your School/ college/ Institution in order to make the event successful. Some registration forms are enclosed. Additional copies if required can be downloaded from the website ( www.dost-nwfp.gov.pk ).

All the participants, except those belonging to Bannu city will be paid Traveling Allowance and provided boarding and lodging facilities on case to case basis.
